I'll be moving the contents of my Fulltime DRL mod, to this thread, as well as updating it with any other mods I figure out. You can enable DRL, disable DRL, choose various forward lights as DRL, change tire size, add features like auto high beams (with the installation of the correct mirror), enable power down with fob front windows, and a LOT more. #Mds disable 06 300c Bluetooth#You'll need to download and buy AlfaOBD from the Google play store (sorry, no Apple support), and a bluetooth OBD client, like OBDLink MX. This being said, most of the info crosses over to us, so check in there, if you're having a hard time with Alfa. There is a 500+ page thread, over on RamForums that is geared toward RAM trucks. If you use AlfaOBD, please post up info, screen shots, etc., to help others who may want to do the same. I'm starting this thread to compile the features in AlfaOBD (a Chrysler/FCA tweaking program) that have been tried and tested. I'd really like to make the Durango R/T work it truly is, as Steven Hammes said, fun to drive, especially considering its size.NOTE: This first post will change and more info will be added. I doubt that issue is endemic to V-8 engines. In the 90's I had a Triton 4.6 V-8 engined F-150 for three years as well as an '88 5.0 Mustang LX - no sound problem with those vehicles either. The Chevy SS LS3 gives me no issues either, nor do the M62 BMW V-8's from a few years ago. I don't have any problems with stock Coyote engined Mustangs, both the previous gen and the current one. I strongly suspect the MDS 4 cylinder mode and resulting exhaust pulses are the culprit. I'd love to get a ride in an MDS disabled but otherwise stock Hemi Durango to see whether or not the issue is resolved. That is really the $64 dollar question for me. So, if MDS is the issue for me, an MDS-disabled Hemi would seemingly negate the issue as long as there isn't another source of the offending noise that lies within the design of the Hemi but is not related to MDS. I'm likely hearing the same thing those folks are, but with the stock exhausts at lower dB levels, and it affects me to a greater degree. However, I've read complaints for years about MDS drone in Hemi cars with aftermarket exhausts that perhaps bring my issue with the stock Hemis MDS to those with "normal" hearing who are driving Hemi's with aftermarket exhausts. I've only experienced the issue in an '08 Magnum R/T Hemi and the '14 and '15 Durango Hemi's, but yes, I expect it is going to present to some degree in any MDS equipped Hemi. TIA for any feedback you guys can give me.īryali - my post is asking about MDS-disabled Hemi's - I have never driven or been for a ride in such a car. I'll gladly trade some MPG just to be able to tolerate being in the car. If the Diablosport can turn off the MDS on a Hemi-equipped Durango, I'd buy one. I like to get your feedback on whether or not you noticed any in car sound difference with the MDS disabled. So does anyone on the board have a Hemi Durango that has been Diablosport tuned, or similar, disabling the MDS. I'm sure many of you are completely unaffected by the MDS sound but it definitely affects me. The MDS noise made me nauseous and gave me a headache that lasted a couple of hours - well after I was out of the car and sitting at home. Today was the worst experience yet and the longest test drive. Unfortunately, I've test driven the R/T's six or seven times during the last two years - and noticed the MDS noise every time. I was hoping that a different platform (Durango) and newer version of the Hemi might not produce as much MDS noise as the Magnum did. I really like the Durango R/T, and am not interested in the V-6 models. I'm a broadcast sound mixer and have my hearing checked periodically - that's how I got the hypersensitivity diagnosis. What is normal acceptable noise to many people is just too loud or bothersome to me. I suffer from hypersensitivity to certain noise frequencies, especially high energy low frequency sounds. Several years ago, I briefly owned an '08 Magnum R/T Hemi and sold it after a few weeks - the MDS drone was killing me, even with a completely stock car. I can't handle the low frequency noise that MDS creates.
